Marek Šimko
Marek Šimko (born January 11, 1988) is a Slovak professional ice hockey goaltender who currently plays for HK Bardejov of the Slovak 2. Liga. Career Šimko began his career with HKm Zvolen, playing for their U18 and U20 teams. During the 2005–06 season, he had a spell with HC '05 Banská Bystrica at U20 level, including one game for their senior team in the Slovak 1. Liga. He then had spells in the Czech Republic at U20 level for HC Dynamo Pardubice, Stadion Hradec Králové and HC Havířov, as well as nine games for HC Orlova in the Czech 2. Liga during the 2007–08 season. Šimko returned to Slovakia in 2008, spending two seasons in the Slovak 1. Liga with HC 07 Detva and HK Trnava before joining MHC Martin of the Tipsport Liga in 2010. Šimko returned to HKm Zvolen in 2012 as their starting goaltender. Mountfield Hokejový Klub is a professional men's ice hockey club based in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. It is a member of the Czech Extraliga. The club was formed after the original HC Mountfield was unable to resolve a sponsorship dispute. History Mountfield HK aligns itself with the history of Královští Lvi, a club formed in Hradec Králové in 1926 that operated a men's team until 2013. In the meantime, Mountfield a.s., a Czech-based home and garden retailer, owned and operated a hockey club in České Budějovice from 2006 to 2013. Following the 2012–13 season, the Czech Extraliga reached a sponsorship deal with Radegast to sell its beer in all Extraliga arenas. HC 07 Detva is an ice hockey team playing in the Slovak 2. Liga, and formed in 2007. They play in the city of Detva, Slovakia at Detva Ice Stadium. History The club was founded in 2007. In the 2017–18 season did not qualify for the playoffs, it was first season for Detva in Slovak Extraliga. In relegation series they finished on second place and will play in Slovak Extraliga next season.
