Marcus Richmond
Marcus E. Richmond (born May 4, 1956) is an American politician serving as a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives for the 21st district. Elected in November 2014, he assumed office on January 12, 2015. Early life and education Richmond was born in Mena, Arkansas. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education from Arkansas Tech University. Career Richmond served in the United States Marine Corps from 1978 to 1998, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel. From 1998 to 2000, he worked as a football coach at the Hargrave Military Academy. Richmond was the president and CEO of America's Pet Registry and operated a ranch with his brother. The Arkansas State House of Representatives is the lower house of the Arkansas General Assembly, the state legislature of the US state of Arkansas. The House is composed of 100 members elected from an equal amount of constituencies across the state. Each district has an average population of 29,159 according to the 2010 federal census. Members are elected to two-year terms and, since the 2014 Amendment to the Arkansas Constitution, limited to sixteen years cumulative in either house. Mathew "Mat" Pitsch (born ) is an American politician serving as a member of the Arkansas Senate from the 8th district. Elected in November 2018, he assumed office on January 14, 2019. Terry Wilfred Rice (born 1954) is an American politician and furniture and appliance store owner from Waldron, Arkansas. He has been a Republican member of the Arkansas State Senate for District 5 (and previously District 9), which include Scott and Sebastian counties near Fort Smith since January 2015. From 2009 to 2013, he represented House District 62 in the Arkansas House of Representatives, having succeeded fellow Republican Shirley Ann Walters of Greenwood in Sebastian County. Mena ( ) is a city in Polk County, Arkansas, United States. It is also the county seat of Polk County. The population was 5,558 as of the 2020 census.
