Marcos Gullón
Marcos Gullón Ferrera (born 20 February 1989) is a Spanish professional Association football, footballer who plays as a midfielder. Club career Born in Madrid, Gullón started his career with Villarreal CF, going on to represent both reserve teams in his beginnings as a senior. In the 2008–09 Segunda División B, 2008–09 season, whilst with Villarreal CF B, the B side, he contributed 36 games – 2009 Segunda División B play-offs, play-offs included – as they promoted to Segunda División for the first time ever. Gullón continued to be first choice for the B's in the following years. His competitive input with the main squad, however, consisted of six matches, the first occurring on 29 October 2009 in a 1–1 away draw against CD Puertollano in the 2009–10 Copa del Rey, round of 32 of the Copa del Rey. Villarreal Club de Fútbol, S.A.D. The 2011–12 La Liga season (known as the ''Liga BBVA'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 81st season of the top level Spanish association football competition. The first matches of the season were played on 26 August 2011 after the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) called a strike, the regular league ended on 3 June 2012, while the entire season ended on 16 June 2012 with the promotion play-off finals. The first goal of the season was scored by Xabier Etxeita, who scored a ninth-minute goal for Elche against Girona in the early kick-off. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time.
