Marco Charpentier
Marco Charpentier (born January 23, 1980) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward, whose semi-professional rights are owned by Sorel-Tracy Éperviers in the LNAH. Playing career On 28 August 2009, Charpentier joined the Norwegian GET-ligaen team Lørenskog on a 2-week try-out. He made a good impression and was offered a contract. Despite ending the 2009–10-season as the third best scoring leader, behind Tomi Pöllänen and Jonas Solberg Andersen, he was not offered a new contract. General Manager, Kjell Erik Oseberg, stated that his defensive qualities were not the best (64 points and only a +9 rating). Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the Blue line (ice hockey), blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. 2009–10 GET-ligaen Season
The 2009–10 GET-ligaen was the 71st season of Norway's premier ice hockey league, Eliteserien (known as GET-ligaen for sponsorship reasons). The regular season began play on 12 September 2009 and concluded on 2 March 2010, with VĂĄlerenga claiming their twenty-seventh League Championship after defeating Lillehammer 2–1 on 26 February. VĂĄlerenga won the league twelve points ahead of the Sparta Warriors, who were defending champions. The league was contested by ten teams until Comet folded in October 2009, leaving nine teams to finish the regular season. The playoffs to determine the 2010 Norwegian Ice Hockey Champions began on 4 March and ended on 19 April 2010. The Swiss League, also known as the Sky Swiss League for sponsorship reasons, is the second tier of the main professional ice hockey league in Switzerland, behind the National League (ice hockey), National League. The winners of the league each season plays a best-of-seven series against the bottom team of the NL, and if they win, they are promoted, while the National League team is relegated to the Swiss League. In 2024, the Swiss League changed its name to Sky Swiss League as a partnership with broadcaster Sky Switzerland.
