Marcela Aguiñaga
Marcela Paola Aguiñaga Vallejo (born 25 April 1973) is an Ecuadorian politician. She most recently served as the Second Vice President of the National Assembly (Ecuador), National Assembly of Ecuador. Previously she was the Ecuadorian Minister of the Environment. Education She attended the Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil, where she earned a degree in law. She did her post-graduate studies in environmental law and sustainable development at the University of Guayaquil. Professional life She started her career in 1999 as a legal assistant and associate attorney at Estudio Jurídico Aguiñaga & Compañía. In 2000, she continued her career as a legal assistant at the Galápagos National Park. Political career In 2007, Aguiñaga started working for the Ministry of Environment. National Assembly (Ecuador)
The National Assembly ( es, Asamblea Nacional) is the unicameral legislature of Ecuador. It replaced the National Congress in 2009 following reforms under the 2008 Constitution. The current President of the Assembly is Virgilio Saquicela since 31 May 2022. Within Ecuador, the National Assembly has the power to pass laws, while appointment of judges to the National Court of Justice is done by a separate Judicial Council. Marcela Holguín
Marcela Holguín or Marcela Priscila Holguín Naranjo (born November 23, 1973) is an Ecuadorian politician. In 2002 she became the first Vice President of the National Assembly of Ecuador. Life Holguín was born in Manabí Province, Ecuador in 1973. Holguín graduated from the Central University of Ecuador, before she gained her master's degree in communication in 2007 at the Andean University "Simón Bolívar". In 2006 she began a career in journalism working for Ecuavisa. She then became active in the Alianza País political party and she was their candidate for the National Assembly in Pichincha's North Central District. In 2019 Holguin was one of three members of the National Assembly investigated by the Attorney General for allegedly inciting violence during the General Strike in October 2019.
