Marc Potts (born 10 October 1991) is a male track cyclist, representing Ireland at international competitions. He competed at the 2016 UEC European Track Championships The 2016 UEC European Track Championships was the seventh edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Velodrome de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, between 19 and 23 ... in the Men's Points race and in the 4 km individual pursuit. He placed 4th in the 2017 UEC European Track Championships in the Men's Scratch race. Northern Ireland's Marc Potts was the only cyclist at GC2018 to compete in all three disciplines: Mountain Bike, Road and Track. A track specialist, Potts competed in the men's 40 km points race and the men's 15 km scratch race during the first week of the Games. Beragh
Beragh (from Irish: ''Bearach'', meaning "place of points/hills/standing stones") is a village and townland in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. It is about southeast of Omagh and is in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area. The 2001 Census recorded a population of 520. History One of the first known references to the village was on a 1690 Plantation map of Ireland. In the 1820s this village, the property of Earl Belmore, was described as having "one long wide street of very mean houses whose tenants for the most part appear to be poor". The inhabitants mostly worked in trade and agriculture. In 1841 the population was 617, the village having 103 houses. The village had a market patent granted under the name "Lowrystown". Track cycling is a Cycle sport, bicycle racing sport usually held on specially built banked tracks or velodromes using purpose-designed track bicycles. History Track cycling has been around since at least 1870. When track cycling was in its infancy, it was held on velodromes similar to the ones used today. These velodromes consisted of two straights and slightly banked turns, though they varied more in length and material than the modern 250 m track. One appeal of indoor track racing was that spectators could be easily controlled, and hence an entrance fee could be charged, making track racing a lucrative sport.
