Marathon–Tula
Marathon–Tula is a Russian UCI track team founded in 2017. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the UCI said that Russian teams are forbidden from competing in international events. History The project was created through the initiative of Alexey Dyumin, governor of the Tula region, and Alexander Vinokurov, president of the investment company Marathon Group, with the aim of supporting and developing Russian cycling. The team's second sponsor since 2018 is VSMPO-AVISMA. The team's cyclists come from the Tula region as well as other regions of Russia. The team specializes in track disciplines, however its cyclists participate in road races as well Marathon–Tula became a UCI track team in 2018. Marathon–Tula's cyclists have participated in the events of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup multiple times after having joined the team. Tamara Balabolina
Tamara Dronova (, née Balabolina; born 13 August 1993) is a Russian track and road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam in road racing, and UCI Track Team Marathon-Tula in track cycling. After winning several medals as a junior and under-23 at the European Track Championships she won as an elite rider the bronze medal in the team pursuit at the 2014 UEC European Track Championships. Besides track cycling she also rides on the road and competed in 2013 at the Russian National Road Race Championships and Russian National Time Trial Championships. The 2019–20 UCI Track Cycling World Cup (also known as the Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup for sponsorship reasons) is a multi-race tournament over a track cycling season. 2019 European Games
The 2nd European Games 2019 (, ''Jeŭrapiejskija huĺni 2019''; , ''Yevropeyskiye igry 2019''), also known as the 2019 European Games or Minsk 2019 (; ), were held in Minsk, Belarus, from 21 June to 30 June 2019. The games featured 200 events in 15 sports (23 disciplines). Around 4,000 athletes from 50 countries participated. Ten of the sports offered qualification opportunities for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. Scratch Race
A scratch race is a track cycling race in which all riders start together and the objective is simply to be first over the finish line after a certain number of laps. UCI regulations specify that a scratch race should be held over 15 km for Elite Men and 10 km for Elite Women. Shorter distances of 10 km for men and 7.5 km for women may be used for qualifying rounds. Racers line up along the inner sprinter's rail and along the outer railing. The riders take a neutralised lap before the starting pistol is fired for the official start. A lapped rider must leave the race once they are overtaken by the peloton. There are no intermediate points or sprints. One tactic is for a rider, or more often a group of riders, to break away and attempt to gain a lap on the rest of the field. The 2017–18 UCI Track Cycling World Cup (also known as the Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a multi-race tournament over a track cycling season. It was the 26th series of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup organised by the UCI. The series was run from 3 November 2017 to 21 January 2018 and consisted of five rounds. Series On 11 May 2017 the UCI revealed the location and dates of the world cup meetings that took place in 2017. Four rounds took place in Pruszków, Poland, Manchester, Great Britain, Milton, Canada and Santiago, Chile. On 27 June 2017 the UCI expanded the World Cup to five events by adding Minsk, Belarus to the schedule for a round to take place in 2018.
