Marangaroo Drive
Marangaroo Drive is an arterial east-west road located in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia. This road was originally part of Warwick Road, but in the late 1970s, Warwick Road was realigned, so the section of Warwick Road that was east of Wanneroo Road was discontinuous with the part that was west. The part that was east was renamed Marangaroo Drive, after the suburb Marangaroo. Marangaroo Drive is now extended through the suburb of Ballajura so it connects with Hepburn Avenue. Marangaroo Drive is now part of State Route 81, which Warwick Road is also a part of, connected by a small part of Wanneroo road. Alexander Heights is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia within the City of Wanneroo. Originally named in 1977 as "Alinjarra", an Aboriginal word for "north", this suburb was renamed Alexander Heights in 1987. The name is derived from Alexander Drive, the main arterial road into the area, which forms the suburb's eastern boundary. The road was in turn named after Mr S.B. Girrawheen is a northern suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Its local government area is the City of Wanneroo. History In October 1969, the Government, in a bid to offer affordable land for housing following the McCarrey Report, rezoned a large portion of land in the area from Urban Deferred to Urban, which was then included in land set aside for the State Housing Commission under the Mirrabooka satellite city development scheme. Marmion, Western Australia
Marmion is a northern coastal suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Its local government area is the City of Joondalup. History Marmion was named after Patrick Marmion, master whaler, who operated a whaling station in the area in 1849. There are still some remains of the old whaling station in the adjacent suburb, Sorrento. A monument to Marmion can be found in Geneff Park in Padbury Circle, Sorrento. Prior to white settlement, the Whadjuk Aboriginal people, who called the area Mooro, gathered abalone and other shellfish in large numbers off the nearby reefs. Wanneroo Road
Wanneroo Road is a arterial highway in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia linking Joondanna and Yokine in the south with Wanneroo and Yanchep in the north. As part of State Route 60, it begins from Charles Street in the inner city and becomes Indian Ocean Drive up to Dongara. Originally a narrow and often country road with a single lane in each direction it has been periodically widened and (particularly north of Wanneroo) straightened. Around the Carabooda area the road has been realigned. Short sections of the original, narrow road remain providing access to properties and businesses along the road.
