Marado
Marado () or Mara Island is an island in Jeju Province, South Korea. It is South Korea's southernmost island, and is off the south coast of Jeju Island. It has an area of and is home to about 90 people. It has long been reputed for having strong women and docile men. In recent years, tourists have come to see its unusual rock formations. It is accessible from Jeju via ferries and excursion boats. Mara-do is within the Administrative divisions of South Korea, administrative boundaries of Daejeong Township (:ko:대정읍, Daejeong-eup) in Seogwipo, Seogwipo City, and is included, along with Gapado, in Gapa-ri, and is South Korea's southernmost point. Dokdo-class Amphibious Assault Ship
The Dokdo-class amphibious assault ship () is a Ship class, class of landing platform helicopter (LPH) and Amphibious assault ship, amphibious assault ships operated by the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN). It was designed and built by Hanjin Heavy Industries (HHIC) to enhance South Korea's amphibious operation capability in terms of assault and military operations other than war (MOOTW). Gapado
Gapado () is a small island south of Jeju Island in South Korea. It is administered under Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju Province. It has an area of and a coastline length of . It first became regularly inhabited by humans in 1842. '' Haenyeo'', female divers of Jeju, go diving off the island's coasts. A ferry runs between the island and Moseulpo Port on Jeju twice daily. Korean Strait
The Korea Strait is a sea passage in East Asia between the Korean Peninsula and Japan. It connects the East China Sea, the Yellow Sea and the Sea of Japan in the northwest Pacific Ocean. The strait is split by Tsushima Island into two parts: the Western Channel, and the Tsushima Strait or Eastern Channel. It is economically important, as many shipping lanes pass through the strait, and both Japan and South Korea allow free passage through it. Jeju Island (Jeju language, Jeju/) is South Korea's largest island, covering an area of , which is 1.83% of the total area of the country. Seogwipo
Seogwipo (; ) is the second-largest Administrative divisions of South Korea, city on Jeju Island, settled on a rocky volcanic coastline in the southern part of Jeju Province, South Korea. In July 2006, Seogwipo's boundaries were expanded to include the entire southern half of Jeju island. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and 2002 FIFA World Cup host, it had a population of 192,566 as of the end of February, 2024.
