''Maappillai'' () is a 1952 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by T. R. Raghunath and written by V. N. Sambandam. The film stars T. R. Ramachandran, P. K. Saraswathi and T. K. Ramachandran. It revolves around an office boy who becomes wealthy in a rags to riches manner, and the attempts made by his boss's son to destroy him and usurp his wealth. ''Mappillai'' () is a 1989 Indian Tamil-language masala film directed by Rajasekhar, starring Rajinikanth, Srividya and Amala. It is a remake of the 1989 Telugu film '' Attaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu'', the Tamil version was produced by Geetha Arts, and Chiranjeevi who played the lead role in the original Telugu version made a special appearance in this film. The film was released on 28 October 1989, on the diwali eve and ran for 200+ days and became a blockbuster. The film was remade in Tamil with the same title in 2011. Plot Arumugam makes a blazing entrance, gatecrashing a marriage to abduct the bride. Geetha, the bride's friend, gets him arrested but then learns that he had rescued the girl from a forced marriage. ''Mappillai'' () is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language masala film directed by Suraj, starring Dhanush as the son-in-law and Manisha Koirala as the mother-in-law along with actress Hansika Motwani (in her Tamil debut), playing as her daughter. Mappillai is a 2016 Indian Tamil language soap opera starring Senthil Kumar and Sreeja Chandran. STAR Vijay initially broadcast the series on weeknights at 9:00PM (Indian Standard Time, IST), with the debut episode screened on 14 November 2016.
