Mao Xinyu
Mao Xinyu (born 17 January 1970) is a grandson of Mao Zedong and a major general in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of the People's Republic of China. Early life and education Mao was born on 17 January 1970 at 301 Hospital, People's Liberation Army General Hospital in Beijing. He is the only child of Mao Anqing and Shao Hua and one of Mao Zedong's twelve grandchildren. He spent the first 11 years of his life away from his parents, who were based in Russia. He graduated from the History Department of Renmin University of China in 1992. He is a researcher at the People's Liberation Army Academy of Military Sciences, where he completed his PhD, doctorate. Career Mao has written several books, including ''Grandfather Mao Zedong (Yeye Mao Zedong)'', published by the People's Liberation Army National Defence University, National Defence University Press in October 2003. Yang Kaihui
Yang Kaihui (; courtesy name: Yunjin ; 6 November 1901 – 14 November 1930) was the second wife of Mao Zedong, whom he married in 1920. She had three children with Mao Zedong: Mao Anying, Mao Anqing and Mao Anlong. Her father was Yang Changji, the head of the Hunan First Normal School and one of Mao's favorite teachers. She was a distant cousin to Yang Youlin, another instrumental member of the Chinese Communist Party. Early life Yang Kaihui was born in the small village of Bancang in Changsha, Hunan Province, on 6 November 1901. Her name meant "Opening Wisdom", although she came to be nicknamed ''Xia'', meaning "Little Dawn."
