Manuel Sarabia
Manuel 'Manu' Sarabia López (born 9 January 1957) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a striker. He amassed La Liga totals of 363 games and 101 goals over the course of 14 seasons, mainly with Athletic Bilbao but also with Logroñés. He won four major titles with the former, notably two national championships, and scored 182 times in all competitions. Left-footed, Sarabia represented Spain at Euro 1984. Abanto Y Ciérvana-Abanto Zierbena
Abanto y Ciérvana-Abanto Zierbena is a municipality located in the province of Biscay, in the autonomous community of Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Country, in the north of Spain. Administratively it has been separate from its neighbour Zierbena, about to the north, since 1995; however, its name has never been officially shortened to Abanto due to there being Abanto, a small village of that name in the Aragón region. The vast majority of the municipality's population do not reside in the tiny hamlet of Abanto but in the former mining settlement of Gallarta, nowadays a commuter town for Bilbao with motorway connection (Autovía A-8), train station (Cercanías Bilbao C2 line) and a large industrial estate. ''El Correo'' (; ) is a leading daily newspaper in Bilbao and the Basque Country of northern Spain. It is among best-selling general interest newspapers in Spain. History and profile The brothers Ybarra y de la Revilla – Fernando, Gabriel and Emilio – founded ''El Pueblo Vasco'' ("The Basque People") on 1 May 1910, with Juan de la Cruz as founding editor. The paper supported Vizcaya's young Conservative Party and its editorial line was clerical, Alfonsist monarchist, free press and Basque regional autonomist. Javier Clemente
Javier Clemente Lázaro (; born 12 March 1950) is a Spanish football manager and former player who played as a midfielder. Forced to retire from playing in his early 20s through injury, he embarked on a coaching career with his first managerial appointment coming in 1975. Over the next four decades, he took charge of several club and national teams, including Athletic Bilbao which he also represented as a player, as well as Espanyol and Spain. He won the La Liga championship in 1983 and 1984 with the former. Nicknamed ''El rubio de Barakaldo'' (The blond from Barakaldo) per his hair colour and town of origin, Clemente coached the Spain national team in two World Cups and Euro 1996. Athletic Bilbao Signing Policy
Since 1912, the Spanish association football, football club Athletic Bilbao has had an unspoken rule, unwritten rule whereby the club will only sign players who were born in the Basque Country (greater region), Basque Country or who learned their football skills at a Basque club. On occasion, youth players have also been invited to join due to ancestral links to the region, but no senior players have been signed based on Basque heritage alone.
