Mansfield.TYA is a French post-rock duo formed in 2002, composed of Julia Lanoë and Carla Pallone. History Mansfield.TYA was founded in 2002 in Nantes by Sexy Sushi singer Julia Lanoë (alias Rebeka Warrior) and baroque violinist Carla Pallone. The name of the band is a reference to June Miller (alias June Mansfield), the second wife of novelist Henry Miller. They release a first EP in 2004, ''May'', and their first album ''June'' in 2007. Their second album ''Seules au bout de 23 secondes'', released in 2009, is described as "an anomaly" (une anomalie) between folk and post-rock. After ''Nyx'' (2011), described as a "nocturnal post-rock baroque opera", they released ''Corpo Inferno'' in 2015, featuring American singer Shannon Wright on the track "Loup noir". Sexy Sushi
Sexy Sushi is a French electroclash band formed in Nantes in 2004, consisting of Rebeka Warrior and Mitch Silver. Their first albums were released as burned CD-R by alternative distributors like Wonderground. An EP and an album were then released in 2009 by Scandale Records. Their most recent album, ''Vous n'allez pas repartir les mains vides'', was released in 2013. ''Les Inrockuptibles'' (), abbreviated as ''Les Inrocks'', is a French cultural magazine. Started as a monthly in 1986, it became weekly in 1995. As of 2021, it returned to a monthly format. Odezenne
Odezenne () is a French band from Bordeaux. Their sound has been characterised as being notably eclectic. The band consists of Alix, Jacques, and Mattia who were childhood friends. The group has released six studio albums, two EP, and multiple music videos. Biography Beginnings (2005–2010) Alix and Mattia met in middle school. The former is from Île-de-France, and the latter is from Milan. The inspiration for the group's name comes from this period. "Odezenne was the name of our old principal. We used it in a freestyle and it made us laugh, so we kept it," explains Alix. In 2005, the group was initially called O2zen (which has a phonetic similarity in French to Odezenne).. Shannon Wright
Shannon Wright is an American singer-songwriter. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida, United States, where she spent her childhood. Former member of the band Crowsdell, Shannon Wright moved from New York to Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 1998, and while in Chapel Hill, Wright started writing songs and playing them for friends. With their encouragement she sent a 4-track cassette tape to a friend of a friend who started Overcoat Records. They released her first 7" ''A Tin Crown for the Social Bash''. Later that year, Wright signed with Touch and Go Records in 1999 from Chicago, releasing six albums. Wright signed with Vicious Circle (France) in 2003 and continues to release records with them.
