Manousos Voloudakis
Manousos-Konstantinos Voloudakis ( el, Μανούσος-Κωνσταντίνος Βολουδάκης; 16 December 1966 – 8 February 2023) was a Greek politician who was a Member of the Hellenic Parliament. He was elected MP of the regional unit of Chania, Crete with New Democracy in the 2019 Greek legislative election. Early life and education Voloudakis was born on 16 December 1966 in Athens to a family originally from Sfakia, Crete. He had an Economics degree which he received from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. After his graduation, he entered the University of Sussex in England where he obtained a postgraduate degree in Political Economy. Before becoming a politician, he worked in the private sector, successively in the companies RUSVAR HOLDINGS BV, (1993-1996), in Metaxa Distillery SA. (1996-1997) and at ELVAL S.A. Sfakia
Sfakiá ( el, Σφακιά) is a mountainous area in the southwestern part of the island of Crete, in the Chania regional unit. It is considered to be one of the few places in Greece that have never been fully occupied by foreign powers. With a 2011 census population of 1,889 inhabitants living on a land area of , Sfakia is one of the largest and least densely populated municipalities on the island of Crete. June 2023 Greek Legislative Election
Snap parliamentary elections were held in Greece on 25 June 2023. All 300 seats in the Hellenic Parliament were contested. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis called for the snap vote after the May 2023 elections did not result in any party gaining a majority, although his centre-right New Democracy made unanticipated gains and increased its share of the vote. As a result, no coalition government was formed by any of the parties eligible to do so. May 2023 Greek Legislative Election
Snap parliamentary elections were held in Greece on 21 May 2023. All 300 seats in the Hellenic Parliament were contested. They were the first elections since 1990 not to be held under a bonus seats system, due to amendments to the electoral law made in 2016. Instead, a purely proportional system was used. The New Democracy (Greece), New Democracy of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis achieved an unexpected victory defying the opinion polls, while Mitsotakis' political opponents alleged fraud. June 2012 Greek Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Greece on Sunday, 17 June 2012, to elect all 300 members to the Hellenic Parliament in accordance with the constitution, after all attempts to form a new government failed following the May elections. If all attempts to form a new government fails, the constitution directs the president to dissolve a newly elected parliament, and then to call for new parliamentary elections within 30 days of the dissolution. The president announced at 16 May the date for the new election, and signed the formal decree to dissolve the parliament and call for the election at 19 May. Legislative elections were held in Greece on Sunday, 6 May 2012 to elect all 300 members to the Hellenic Parliament. It was regular scheduled to be held in late 2013, four years after the previous election; however, an early election was stipulated in the coalition agreement of November 2011 which formed the Papademos Cabinet. The coalition comprised both of Greece's traditional major political parties, PASOK on the left and New Democracy (ND) on the right, as well as the right-wing Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS).
