Manolo Urquiza
Manuel Fernández Urquiza, (January 29, 1920 – December 30, 1987) more commonly known as Manolo Urquiza, was a Cuban-born media personality whose career spanned over three decades. He developed his career as a radio announcer, public relations officer and television presenter, both in his native Cuba and in Puerto Rico, where he became a motion picture presenter on Puerto Rican television. Career In Cuba Born on January 29, 1920, in Trinidad, Cuba, to Jacobo Fernandez (a Spanish immigrant to Cuba who opened the very successful Ce-ci-Bon Bakery in Havana) and Julieta Urquiza. Luis Aguad Jorge
Luis Aguad Jorge (August 25, 1925 – November 6, 2007) was a Cuban actor and salesman who, due to his small size, was better known as "El Enanito de Holsum", a bread company where he worked for many years of his life. Early life Aguad Jorge was born in a Havana suburb. As a young man, he met and befriended Joaquin Monserrat, an actor who later moved to Puerto Rico and became famous there as children's character "Pacheco". Aguad Jorge himself became involved in acting during his youth in Havana, performing at several theatrical plays there. Ramiro Martinez (sportscaster)
Ramiro Martinez (August 23, 1923 – July 8, 2015) was a Cuban born sportscaster who settled in Puerto Rico, where he hosted, at various times, television and radio shows. Martinez was elected to the Puerto Rican Sports Hall of Fame in 2009. Biography Ramiro Martinez left Cuba in 1945 and moved to New York, New York, where he began broadcasting Major League Baseball games to a number of Hispanic countries. At that era, he worked alongside Argentine baseball commentator and friend Eloy Canel. During this period also, he authored columns for 12 newspapers and 3 magazines. Nobel Vega (August 21, 1931 – August 7, 2023), better known as Tio Nobel or Uncle Nobel, was a Cuban actor and children's television personality. Vega is mostly remembered for his character as a boat captain who appeared on Puerto Rico's WKAQ-TV's "El Show del Tio Nobel" ("Uncle Nobel's Show"), a daily children's game show he hosted in which children played for prizes, usually Mattel branded toys. Marilyn Pupo (born November 23, 1950) is a Cuban-born Puerto Rican actress, singer and television show host. She is known for her stint as a television show host at Telemundo Puerto Rico's Noche de Gala alongside Eddie Miro, and for starring in the telenovela " El Idolo", also on that channel, alongside Jose Luis Rodriguez, during 1980 and 1981, as well as in other soap operas, such as "Maria Eugenia" and " Ambicion de Poder", where she starred alongside Martin Lantigua. Ofelia D'Acosta née Martinez (9 February 1922 in Havana, Cuba – 1 October 2011 in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) was a Cuban–Puerto Rican actress. She was known in Puerto Rico for her participation in theater, film and telenovelas (a type of soap opera popular on Latin American television markets). Early life Born Ofelia Martinez in Havana, Cuba, she met Cuban actor Tino Acosta, five years her junior, when they were both in their 20s. The pair married in 1949. D'Acosta was 27 and her husband was 22 at that time.
