Mann Island
Mann Island is a small area in Liverpool, England. It lies on the waterfront next to the River Mersey between the Albert Dock to the south and the Pier Head to the north. History Mann Island was formed in the 18th and 19th centuries as part of the Liverpool dock complex. It was a virtual island, with Georges Dock to the north, Canning Dock to the east and south, and the River Mersey to the west. It was connected to the shoreline by a narrow neck of land opposite James Street. It was the site of the Manchester Dock, opening onto the river, and two graving docks, opening into Canning Dock. It was also the location of the Great Western Railway warehouses, and the Mersey Railway pumping station, all of which are Grade II listed buildings. Later, in the 20th century, it was the site for the James Street station of the Liverpool Overhead Railway. The site ceased to be an "island" in 1899 when the Georges Dock was filled in to provide building land for the Port of Liverp ...

Mann Lake
Mann Lake is the largest of the shallow playa lakes in the northern part of the Alvord Valley in Harney County in the U.S. state of Oregon. The lake is a remnant of a larger Pleistocene lake that covered much of the valley, east of Steens Mountain. Fields–Denio Road runs along the east side of the lake. Inflow to Mann Lake comes from small, intermittent streams, mainly from Steens Mountain. The lake, which has no outlet, but loses water by evaporation, is hypereutrophic. An influx of cattle waste from nearby rangelands adds to the lake's natural eutrophic state. Large concentrations of'' Cladophora'' algae are common. The Bureau of Land Management operates the Mann Lake Recreation Site, about southeast of Burns by highway and unpaved road. The site has vault restrooms and boat ramps, but no other amenities. Recreation at or near the site includes fishing, camping, hiking, wildlife viewing, and amateur geology. Mann Lake, stocked with Lahontan cutthroat trout, has b ...

Mann (paramilitary Rank)
''Mann'' (), was a paramilitary rank used by several Nazi Party paramilitary organizations between 1925 and 1945. The rank is most often associated with the ''Schutzstaffel'' (''SS-Mann''), but also was a rank of the SA, where ''Mann'' (''SA-Mann'') was the lowest enlisted rank and was the equivalent of a private. In 1938, with the rise of the ''SS-Verfügungstruppe'' (later renamed the Waffen-SS), the SS changed the rank of ''Mann'' to '' Schütze'', although it still retained the original SS rank of ''Mann'' for the ''Allgemeine-SS'' (general SS). The rank of ''Mann'' was junior to SS-'' Sturmmann''. In most Nazi Party organizations, the rank of ''Mann'' held no distinctive insignia. Some groups, however, granted a minor form of rank insignia such as a blank collar patch or simple shoulder board to denote the rank of ''Mann''. (see right: SS rank insignia pattern from 1933) Even lower ranks, e.g. ''Bewerber, Jungmann, Anwärter, Vollanwärter'', were established in the m ...
