Manjul Krishna Thakur
Manjul Krishna Thakur (b 1952/53) is an Indian politician and the present Minister of State for Refugee Relief & Rehabilitation (Independent Charge) and the Minister of State for Micro & Small Scale Enterprises and Textiles in the Government of West Bengal. He lives in Thakurnagar. He became MLA in 2011, elected from the Gaighata constituency in the 2011 West Bengal state assembly election. The term ended in 2016. Kapil Krishna Thakur, the former MP from Bangaon, was his elder brother. He is the second son of Matua ''Barama'' Binapani Devi. His son, Shantanu Thakur, was elected to Lok Sabha on BJP ticket in 2019. Kapil Krishna Thakur (1940-2014) was an Indian politician. He hailed from Thakurnagar in West Bengal. He was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in the 2014 Indian general election from Bangaon (Lok Sabha constituency), West Bengal, as an All India Trinamool Congress candidate. But he died just a few months into his term. He was a graduate of the University of Calcutta. He was the eldest son of Matua Boro Maa Binapani Devi and the ''sanghadhipati'' of Matua Mahasangha. Thakurnagar is a town in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is close to the border with Bangladesh. It is situated on the east side of the Jessore Road. Thakurnagar is famous for "Baruni Mela". Boro Maa
Boro Maa ( bn, বড়মা, 21 September 1920 — 5 March 2019) was a matriarch of the Matua Mahasangha, a Hindu religious reformation movement. Her original name was Binapani Devi Thakur; the name "Boro Maa" translates to "elder mother", an epithet for universal mother of Matua Community. She along with her husband Pramatha Ranjan Thakur established the community's new capital at Thakurnagar. Career Boro Maa was born in 1920 in Jabdakathi village, Barishal District, Bengal Presidency. In 1933, she married Pramatha Ranjan Thakur, a great-grandson of Harichand Thakur, the founder of Matua Mahasangha.
