Veeraswamy Ravichandran (born 30 May 1961), known mononymously as Ravichandran, is an Indian actor, director, producer, music director, lyricist and editor working predominantly in Kannada cinema. The son of film producer N. Veeraswamy, he continues to produce and distribute films under his father's production house, Sri Eswari Productions. He is popularly referred to as "Crazy Star" by the media and his fans. Starting his acting career as a child artist in '' Kula Gowrava'' (1971), Ravichandran started early as a co-producer for films such as '' Khadeema Kallaru'' (1982) and ''Chakravyuha'' (1983) besides acting in supporting roles. His lead role films started with ''Premigala Saval'' (1984), '' Pralayanthaka'' (1984) and ''Swabhimana'' (1985). ''Malla'' is a 2004 Indian Kannada-language film written, directed, composed and enacted by Ravichandran in dual roles. The film also stars Priyanka Trivedi and Mohan Shankar. The film was produced by Ramu for his home banner Ramu Enterprises making his the first team up with Ravichandran. The film found a widespread release across Karnataka state on 27 February 2004 and was declared a blockbuster at the box office. The film is also reportedly the first to introduce the famous Kerala based traditional art Kalarippayattu in Kannada cinema. The stunt master K. D. ''Ekangi'' is a 2002 Indian Kannada-language film written, directed by and starring Ravichandran. He also wrote film's screenplay and composed the music. The film stars Ramya Krishna and Prakash Raj, with Vanitha Vasu, K. S. Sridhar, Ramesh Bhat and Sadhu Kokila in supporting roles. With the film, Ravichandran's reputation as an experimenter grew, having erected a house of exclusively for the film and spending heavily in filming song sequences, an unusual trend in Kannada cinema during the time.
