Manja, Madagascar
Manja is a town and commune () in Madagascar. It belongs to the district of Manja, which is a part of Menabe Region. The population of the commune was estimated to be approximately 30,000 as of 2015 commune census. Manja is served by a local Manja Airport. In addition to primary schooling the town offers secondary education at both junior and senior levels. The town provides access to hospital services to its citizens. It is also a site of industrial-scale mining. The majority 80% of the population of the commune are farmers, while an additional 17% receives their livelihood from raising livestock. The most important crop is rice, while other important products are beans, cassava and onions. Industry and services provide employment for 0.5% and 2.5% of the population, respectively. Manja Schüle (née Orlowski; born 4 August 1976) is a German politician from the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). She has been since 2019. From 2017 to 2019 she was a member of the German Bundestag. Since the 2024 Brandenburg state election she has been a member of the Landtag of Brandenburg. Early life and education Manja Schüle was born on 4 August 1976 in Frankfurt (Oder) and grew up there. In 1996 she moved to Potsdam. The Nederlandse Muziekprijs (literal translation, Dutch Music Prize) is an honour bestowed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to a musician working in classical music. It is the highest such honour in Dutch music. The ''Nederlandse Muziekprijs'' is awarded on the recommendation of the Advisory Committee for the Dutch Music Prize. Manja (or manjha) (IPA: /maːŋdʒʱaː/) is an abrasive string used to fly fighter kites, mainly in South Asian countries. It is made when a cotton string is coated with powdered glass or a similar abrasive. In Chile it is called ''hilo curado'' (cured thread).
