Ontario North
Ontario North was a federal electoral district represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 1925. It was located in the province of Ontario. It was created by the British North America Act of 1867. The North Riding of Ontario initially consisted of the Townships of Reach, Uxbridge, Brock, Scott, Thorah, Mara, Rama and Scugog. In 1882, it was redefined to exclude the townships of Reach and Uxbridge, and to include the townships of Morrison, Ryde, Draper, Oakley, Macaulay, Maclean and Ridout and the villages of Bracebridge and Cannington. Manitou (), akin to the Iroquois '' orenda'', is the spiritual and fundamental life force among Algonquian groups in the Native American theology. Manitoulin Streams Improvement Association
Manitoulin Streams Improvement Association is a not for profit group that rehabilitates streams, rivers and creeks on the largest lake island in the world Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada. They partner with the entire community, including farmers, fisherman, and local lake and fish associations. Their rehabilitation projects enhance water quality and the fisheries resource on Manitoulin Island and Lake Huron which is fed by the streams. These streams were once very productive for salmon and trout spawning, but have been destroyed by centuries of human land use practices. Manitoulin Streams Improvement Association has rehabilitated 23 major sites on four waterways. These include the Manitou River, Blue Jay Creek, Norton's Creek and Bass Lake Creek. Blue Jay Creek (Lake Huron Tributary)
Blue Jay Creek is a river on Manitoulin Island in Central Manitoulin and Tehkummah townships, Manitoulin District in northeastern Ontario, Canada and a tributary of Lake Huron. Course Blue Jay Creek begins at a spring, about east of the community of Sandfield on Lake Manitou in Central Manitoulin township, and at an elevation of . It flows south under Ontario Highway 542 and then to the east of the community of Tehkummah in Tehkummah township. Manitoulin District
Manitoulin District is a district in Northeastern Ontario within the Canadian province of Ontario. It was created in 1888 from part of the Algoma District. The district seat is in Gore Bay. It comprises Manitoulin Island primarily, as well as a number of smaller islands surrounding it, such as Barrie, Cockburn, and Great La Cloche islands. Previously it included the municipality of Killarney on the mainland, until this was transferred to Sudbury District in the late 1990s. Northern Ontario
Northern Ontario is a primary geographic and quasi-administrative region of the Canadian province of Ontario, the other primary region being Southern Ontario. Most of the core geographic region is located on part of the Superior Geological Province of the Canadian Shield, a vast rocky plateau located mainly north of Lake Huron (including Georgian Bay), the French River, Lake Nipissing, and the Mattawa River.
