Manguito
Alberto Gonçalves (28 August 1953 – 16 December 2012), better known as Manguito, was a Brazilian footballer who played as a centre-back. Career Revealed by Pavunense FC, Manguito played for Olaria, CSA and Grêmio Maringá before arriving at Flamengo, where he was Brazilian champion in 1980, and played 116 matches for the club. He also worked for Al Nassr, Taubaté, Vitória-ES, Rio Branco-ES, União Rondonópolis and Ferroviário de Tubarão. 1979 Campeonato Carioca
The 1979 Campeonato Carioca had two editions. Special Championship The first edition was the first championship organized by the recently founded FFERJ. It would include ten clubs; the six best teams of the 1978 City qualification and the four best teams of the 1978 State qualification. The championship would actually count for the 1978 season, and would be played in a double round-robin system. However, little less than two weeks before the beginning of the championship, the qualifications were acknowledged as the official Fluminense and Carioca championships of that year, and what would be the 1978 championship was turned into a "Special Championship" for 1979. Carioca Aqueduct
The Carioca Aqueduct (), also known as Arcos da Lapa, is an aqueduct in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The aqueduct was built in the middle of the 18th century to bring fresh water from the Carioca River to the population of the city. It is a typical example of colonial architecture and engineering. The Carioca Aqueduct is located in the centre of the city, in the Lapa neighbourhood. Since the end of the 19th century the aqueduct serves as a bridge for the Santa Teresa Tramway that connects the city centre with the Santa Teresa neighbourhood uphill. History In the early history of Rio de Janeiro, the nucleus of the city was surrounded by swamps with water of bad quality, and fresh water had to be carried manually from streams located relatively far from the city.
