Mangral Rajputs
The Mangral are a Pahari people (Kashmir), Pothwari-Punjabi Rajput tribe found in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan and Pothohar Plateau, Potohar Plateau of Punjab, Pakistan. History They claim to be descended from Raja Mangar Pal, a Raja (prince). Raja Mangar Pal emigrated from present day Sialkot to Rajauri, Poonch district, India, Poonch in what is now Jammu and Kashmir (state), Jammu and Kashmir. His descendants settled there and Kotli, Kotli Mangrallan town emerged. His grandson Raja Sehns Pal converted to Islam, and the towns of Sehnsa and Chowki Moong are named after him. The Mangrals ruled Kotli State in what is now Azad Kashmir until 1815, when it was incorporated into the State of Jammu and Kashmir (princely state), Jammu by the Sikh ruler Ranjit Singh. The Mangrals are a distinct community with a notable social standing.
