Mangos (song)
"Mangos" is a 1956 popular song written by composer Dee Libbey and lyricist Sid Wayne. It was first introduced in the musical revue ''Ziegfeld Follies 1957''. It was recorded by Rosemary Clooney, and is a follow-on to her earlier hit " Come On-a My House" in style and subject matter. The Rosemary Clooney version of the song (released by Columbia Records as catalog number 40835) reached #10 on the Billboard magazine disk jockey charts, and #25 on the overall Billboard Top 100. It also reached #17 on the United Kingdom charts. Rosemary Clooney
Rosemary Clooney (May 23, 1928 – June 29, 2002) was an American singer and actress. She came to prominence in the early 1950s with the song " Come On-a My House", which was followed by other pop numbers such as "Botch-a-Me", " Mambo Italiano", "Tenderly", " Half as Much", " Hey There", " This Ole House", and "Sway". She also had success as a jazz vocalist. Clooney's career languished in the 1960s, partly because of problems related to depression and drug addiction, but revived in 1977, when her ''White Christmas'' co-star Bing Crosby asked her to appear with him at a show marking his 50th anniversary in show business. A disc jockey, more commonly abbreviated as DJ, is a person who plays recorded music for an audience. Types of DJs include radio DJs (who host programs on music radio stations), club DJs (who work at a nightclub or music festival), mobile DJs (who are hired to work at public and private events such as weddings, parties, or festivals), and turntablists (who use record players, usually turntables, to manipulate sounds on phonograph records).
