The Mangeshkar family (pronunciation: aŋɡeːʃkəɾ is a prominent Indian family, headed by Deenanath Mangeshkar. The family is of Marathi and Konkani origin. Overview Deenanath Mangeshkar The father of this famous musical family, Deenanath Mangeshkar, was born on 29 December 1900 in the village of Mangeshi (then in Portuguese India) to a temple pujari and handmaiden of the deity Mangesh. His father, Ganesh Bhatt Navathe (Abhisheki), was a married Karhade Brahmin who served as pujari at the famous Mangueshi Temple in Goa, and his mother was Ganesh's mistress, Yesubai, belonging to Gomantak Maratha Samaj. Since Deenanath's parents were not married to each other, he did not inherit his father's Brahmin caste and surname. Karhade Brahmin
Karhaḍe Brahmins (also spelled as Karada Brahmins or Karad Brahmins) are a Hindu Brahmin sub-caste mainly from the Indian state of Maharashtra, but are also distributed in states of Goa, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh. Based on Veda and Vedanta Karhade Brahmins are essentially Rigvedi Brahmins who follow the Ashwalayana Sutra and belong to Shakala Shakha. Karhade Brahmins are divided into two groups based on the Vedanta they follow, the first of which follows the Advaita Vedanta of Adi Shankara and the second of which follows the Dvaita Vedanta of Madhvacharya. Hence, Karhade Brahmins have both Smarthas and Madhvas (also known as ''Bhagvats'' or Vaishnavas) among them. ''Mid-Day'' (stylised as mid-day) is a morning daily Indian compact newspaper. Editions in various languages including Gujarati and English have been published out of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Pune so far. In 2011, the Delhi and Bangalore editions were closed down. ''Deccan Herald'' is an Indian English-language daily newspaper published from the Indian state of Karnataka. It was founded by businessman K. N. Guruswamy and launched on 17 June 1948. It is published by The Printers Mysore, a privately held company owned by the Nettakallappa family, heirs of Guruswamy. Rahul Dev Burman (; 27 June 1939 – 4 January 1994) was an Indian music director and singer, who is considered to be one of the greatest and most successful music directors of the Hindi film music industry. From the 1960s to the 1990s, Burman composed musical scores for 331 films, bringing a new level of music ensemble with his compositions. Sarika (born 5 December 1960) is an Indian actress and costume designer. In 2005, she won the National Film Award for Best Actress for the English-language film '' Parzania''.
