Manfred Rein
Manfred Rein (19 December 1948, in Dornbirn, Austria – 22 April 2016, in Feldkirch, AustriaHanna Reiner: „WKV-Präsident Manfred Rein verstorben“', Vorarlberg Online (VOL.at), 22.) was an Austrian politician for the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and president of the Economic Chamber of Vorarlberg. Life After completing grammar school in his hometown of Dornbirn, Rein went to the Handelsschule in Feldkirch. Subsequently, he completed studying as a tiler, which he completed in 1971. In 1976, he passed the master's examination for plate tiler and in 1980 founded his own company in Dornbirn. He was married and lived with his wife as well as a son and a daughter in Dornbirn. Politics From 1980 to 1994, Rein was a member of the Dornbirn City Council for the Austrian People's Party. From 1985 to 1994, he was also city councilor in Dornbirn. Dornbirn
Dornbirn () is a city in the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg. It is the administrative centre for the district of Dornbirn, which also includes the town of Hohenems, and the market town Lustenau. Dornbirn is the largest city in Vorarlberg and the tenth largest city in Austria. It is an important commercial and shopping centre. Geography Location Dornbirn is located at 437 metres above sea level in the Alpine Rhine Valley, at the foot of the Karren mountain, part of the Bregenz Forest Mountain chain at the edge of the Eastern Alps. It is near the borders to Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein. The Dornbirner Ach river flows through the town and later into Lake Constance. Feldkirch () is a city rights, town in the western Austrian States of Austria, state of Vorarlberg, bordering on Switzerland and Liechtenstein. It is the administrative centre of the Feldkirch (district), Feldkirch district. After Dornbirn, it is the second most populous town in Vorarlberg. The westernmost point in Austria lies in Feldkirch on the river Rhine, at the tripoint between Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. History This medieval town, which remains well preserved to this day, was mentioned as a city for the first time in 1218, after Count Hugo von Montfort built the "Schattenburg", a castle which still is the major landmark of Feldkirch. Austrian People's Party
The Austrian People's Party ( , ÖVP ) is a Christian-democratic and liberal-conservative political party in Austria. Since January 2025, the party has been led by Christian Stocker (as an acting leader). It is currently the second-largest party in the National Council, with 51 of the 183 seats, and won 26.3% of votes cast in the 2024 legislative election. It holds seats in all nine state legislatures, and is part of government in seven, of which it leads six. The ÖVP is a member of the International Democracy Union and the European People's Party. Vorarlberg ( ; ; , , or ) is the westernmost States of Austria, state () of Austria. It has the second-smallest geographical area after Vienna and, although it also has the second-smallest population, it is the state with the second-highest population density (also after Vienna). Karlheinz Rüdisser
Karlheinz Rüdisser (born 25 February 1955, Bregenz, Austria) is an Austrian politician for the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), who, since December 2011, is the state administrator of Vorarlberg. He is married and lives with his wife and a daughter and two sons in Lauterach. Education After secondary school, Rüdisser studied at the commercial academy at Bregenz, where he graduated in 1974, and he studied international business at the Vienna University of Economics. He graduated with a master's degree in 1980. In the same year, he joined the Vorarlberg Provincial Administration and worked in the Economic Department of Vorarlberg, which he chaired from 1986 to 2008.
