Mandy Nolan
Amanda Nolan (born 18 January 1967) is an Australian comedian and writer. She was an unsuccessful candidate at the 2022 Australian federal election and the 2025 Australian federal election. Nolan ran as the Greens candidate for the federal division of Richmond in the 2022 Federal Election, however she did not win the seat. Nolan was then announced as the Greens candidate for the same division again in May 2023, however would again lose to Labor incumbent Justine Elliot. Early life Nolan was born on 18 January 1967 in Wondai, Queensland. Nolan attended Kingaroy State High School, graduating in 1984. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Queensland, majoring in drama, literature and journalism, and trained as a vocational teacher of adults with learning disabilities. Wondai () is a rural town and locality in the South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Wondai had a population of 1,975 people. Geography Wondai is located to the south of the Bunya Highway, north west of the state capital, Brisbane. History The name ''Wondai'' is believed to be an aboriginal word from the Wakawaka language derived from either meaning ''dingo'' (a native dog) or meaning ''nape of the neck''. Facilitator
A facilitator is a person who helps a Social group, group of people to work together better, understand their common objectives, and plan how to achieve these objectives, during meetings or discussions. In doing so, the facilitator remains "neutral", meaning they do not take a particular position in the Conversation, discussion. Akmal Saleh
Akmal Saleh (, ) is an Egyptian-Australian comedian and actor. He was born in Egypt and arrived in Sydney with his family in 1975 at the age of 10. Byron Writers Festival
The Byron Writers Festival (formerly known as Byron Bay Writers Festival) is a literary event taking place annually in Byron Bay, New South Wales. The festival commenced in 1997 and was founded by Peter Barclay and a group of volunteers who in part drew some of their inspiration from the Adelaide Writers Week. The festival was organised through the Northern Rivers Writers' Centre, incorporated in 1995. In 2016, the Centre and the Festival were amalgamated under one banner and was renamed as Byron Writers Festival. It is held on the first weekend of August each year. As of 2010 it included presentations by over 100 participants, which has continued in every year since. The festival has included interviews with a number of notable writers including Cheryl Strayed, Bret Easton Ellis, Matthew Reilly and Kathy Lette.
