''Mandog'' is a 1972 BBC children's television science fiction serial in 6 parts based on the novel by Peter Dickinson, who adapted the book. Peter Dickinson
Peter Malcolm de Brissac Dickinson OBE FRSL (16 December 1927 – 16 December 2015) was an English author and poet, best known for children's books and detective stories. Dickinson won the annual Carnegie Medal from the Library Association for both ''Tulku'' (1979) and ''City of Gold'' (1980), each being recognised as the year's outstanding children's book by a British subject. Through 2020 he is one of eight writers to win two Carnegies; no one has won three. He was also a highly commended runner-up for ''Eva'' (1988) and four times a commended runner-up. For his contributions as a children's writer Dickinson was a finalist for the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 2000. Anna Margaret Home ( ; born 13 January 1938) is an English television producer and executive who worked for most of her career at the BBC. Early career After graduating from Oxford University, where she read Modern History at St Anne's College from 1956, Home joined the BBC in 1960. Initially working as a studio manager in BBC Radio, Home joined BBC Television in 1964 as a researcher for '' Play School''. Mary Isobel Sugden (21 July 19221 July 2009), known professionally as Mollie Sugden was an English actress. She was best known for being an original cast member in the British sitcom ''Are You Being Served?'' (1972–1985) as senior saleswoman Mrs. Slocombe and appeared reprising the character in the AYBS spin-off ''Grace & Favour'' (1992–1993). Jonathan Hardy
Jonathan Hardy (20 September 1940 – 30 July 2012) was a New Zealand-Australian film and television actor, writer and director, he worked also in Australia. Early career Hardy was born in New Zealand in Wellington and began his training at the New Zealand Players' Drama School. He traveled to Britain where he studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and was a gold medal student. This brought interest from the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre where he secured contracts. He returned to his home of New Zealand in a touring production of ''The Comedy of Errors'' with the Royal Shakespeare Company (1966) and remained to help expand the country's theatre industry. Ian Sharp (born 13 November 1946, Clitheroe, Lancashire) is an English film and television director. He is best known for directing the SAS action thriller ''Who Dares Wins'' (1982) and directing the action sequences of the James Bond film ''Goldeneye'' (1995). Life and career Sharp was educated at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Blackburn and Durham University (Hatfield College) where he gained an honours degree in Psychology and Modern Philosophy in 1968.
