The Haryana Legislative Assembly (ISO: ''Hariyāṇā Vidhāna Sabhā'') is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of Haryana. The seating of the assembly is at Chandigarh, the capital of the state. There are seats in the house filled by direct election using a single-member first-past-the-post voting system. History The body was founded in 1966, when the state was created from part of the state of Punjab, by the Punjab Reorganisation Act, 1966. Sandeep Singh
Sandeep Singh (born 27 February 1986) is an Indian professional field hockey player from Haryana and an ex-captain of the Indian national hockey team. He generally features as a full back and is a penalty corner specialist for the team. He has been dubbed "Flicker Singh" in the media for his specialization of the drag-flick, one of the fastest in the world. Singh holds a DSP rank in the Haryana Police. He has been elected as MLA in 2019 from Pehowa constituency in Kurukshetra, Haryana from Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as the Sports Minister of Haryana and resigned from the post on 1 January 2023, after the Haryana police registered a case against him for a sexual assault complaint. 2024 Haryana Legislative Assembly Election
The 2024 Haryana Legislative Assembly elections were held in Elections in Haryana, Haryana on 2024 elections in India, 5 October 2024 to elect all List of constituencies of the Haryana Legislative Assembly, 90 members of the Haryana Legislative Assembly. The schedule of the election was announced by the Election Commission of India on 16 August 2024. The ballots were counted and the results were declared on 8 October 2024.
