Yugyd Va National Park ( Komi, ) is a national park in the Komi Republic, a republic of Russia. It is Europe's largest national park (ahead of Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland) and it was Russia's largest national park until the creation of Beringia National Park in 2013. History The park was created by the Russian Government on April 23, 1994, with the goals of protection and recreational use of the taiga forests of the Northern Urals. Mount Narodnaya (also known as Naroda and Poenurr; , ("People's Mountain"), Mansi: Поэӈ-ур, Поэн-урр) is the highest peak of the Urals in Russia. Its elevation is . Nenets (in former work also Yurak) is a pair of closely related languages spoken in northern Russia by the Nenets people. They are often treated as being two dialects of the same language, but they are very different and mutual intelligibility is low. The languages are Tundra Nenets, which has a higher number of speakers, spoken by some 30,000 to 40,000 people in an area stretching from the Kanin Peninsula to the Yenisei River, and Forest Nenets, spoken by 1,000 to 1,500 people in the area around the Agan, Pur, Lyamin and Nadym rivers. Pechora Municipal District
Pechora (; ) is a town in the Komi Republic, Russia, located on the Pechora River, west of and near the northern Ural Mountains. The area of the town is . Population: History Pechora was granted town status in 1950. Pechora was also the site of a Stalin-era gulag that operated from 1932 to 1953, although it was partially emptied in 1941 as many of the inmates were forced into service in the Red Army.
