Mama Cash
Mama Cash is the oldest international women's fund in the world, founded in the Netherlands in 1983. In 2013, Mama Cash supported 118 women's, girls and trans rights organisations with 4.3 million euros. History Mama Cash was founded in the Netherlands in 1983 by five feminists: Marjan Sax, Dorelies Kraakman, Patti Slegers, Tania Leon and Lida van den Broek. Marjan Sax provided the initial capital of $1,250,000, lending it to Mama Cash for an initial ten years, later extended by another five years. While initially uncomfortable with her inherited wealth, Sax felt it was important that activism be funded, and that money and ideals go together. Her philosophy inspired other wealthy women, and Mama Cash started a group called De Erfdochters (Women With Inherited Wealth). Marjan Sax
Marjan Sax (born 26 December 1947) is a Dutch feminist lesbian activist, member of Dolle Mina and co-founder of a number of feminist organisations, ethical bank Mama Cash among them. Sax is also an advisor for charity organisations. Life Sax was born in Amsterdam and studied politics at the University of Amsterdam. She was teamleader at the Open School in the North of Amsterdam from April 1977 to 1981. After that she worked as a researcher at the Foundation ''Vrouw & Media'' from March 1983 until June 1986, where she studied the position of female journalists at Dutch newspaper publishers. Sax has worked as an independent advisor for charities since 2003. She is a writer and is a board member for several organisations. International Network Of Women's Funds
The International Network of Women's Funds (INWF) is a membership organisation bringing together women's funds from around the world, in order to promote "philanthropy with a feminist perspective". INWF was founded in 2000 with nine members, including the oldest international women's funds Mama Cash and the Global Fund for Women, and in 2014, had 42 members globally. From 2010, the Executive Director has been Emilienne de León (also known as Emilienne de León Aulina). Some the members distribute substantial amounts of money. For example, according to its annual report, Mama Cash allocated 15.7m Euro (approx $16m) in 2022. Right To Sexuality
The right to sexuality incorporates the right to express one's sexuality and to be free from discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation. Tatiana de la tierra (May 14, 1961 – July 31, 2012) was a Colombian writer, poet and activist. She was the author of the first international Latina lesbian magazine ''Esto no tiene nombre.'' Early life Tatiana de la tierra was born in Villavicencio, Colombia on May 14, 1961. She emigrated to the US in 1969 at the age of eight. Her family settled in Homestead, Florida. At her elementary school, de la tierra volunteered to help in the school library. De la tierra stated she reportedly knew she was attracted to women around the time she reached the age of 10 or 11, but did not come out as a lesbian until 1982.
