Maloth (also known as malom) is a village in Kasaragod district of the state of Kerala., Maloth is a village in Western Ghats. It is situated in the Balal Panchayath of Kasaragod District of Kerala. It is a part of the Kasaragod Parliament constituency. Earlier it was in the Hosdurg assembly constituency which is renamed as Kanhangad after the delimitation of assembly constituencies in 2011. It shares borders with the Karnataka forest. Nearest towns are Kanhangad, Cherupuzha, and Nileshwaram. One can reach Maloth through bus from Kanhangad or from Cherupuzha. Hosdurg
Hosdurg is one of four taluks that constitute the Kasaragod District, Kerala. Others are Kasaragod taluk, Kasaragod, Manjeshwaram Taluk, Manjeshwaram and Vellarikundu taluks. In the north, it borders Kasaragod taluk; in south, the Kannur District; in the east, Vellarikundu taluk; and in the west, the Arabian sea. With an area of 900.3 km2 (90030 hectares), it was the smaller of the two taluks. Then Hosdurg bifurcated into Vellarikund and Hosdurg taluks in 2013 for ease of administration. Kanhangad and Nileshwaram are the Municipalities of Kerala, municipalities within the taluk. Hill Highway (Kerala)
The State Highway 59 (SH-59) is the longest state highway in Kerala. The proposed highway extends from Nandarapadavu in Kasaragod district to Parassala in Thiruvananthapuram district, will have a length of 1332.16 km and will pass through 13 of the 14 districts, the exception being Alappuzha as that district is not part of the hilly ranges of Kerala.
