Maloof Money Cup
The Maloof Money Cup was an annual skateboarding competition for amateur and professional skateboarders founded by Joe and Gavin Maloof of the Maloof family. The events were held in four cities: Costa Mesa, California, in 2008, 2009, 2010; New York City in 2010 and 2011; Washington, D.C. in 2011, and in Kimberley, South Africa, in 2011 and 2012. The aim of the competition was to raise awareness of skateboarding and to encourage participation in skateboarding events and activities. Organizers also aim to contribute new skateboarding infrastructure and boost retail activity in those areas where events are held. History The inaugural event was held in 2008 at the OC Fair & Event Center in Orange County, California, with approximately 25,000 attendees. In 2010 the competition expanded to New York City. Cornell Iral Haynes Jr. (born November 2, 1974), better known by his stage name Nelly, is an American rapper, singer, and actor. Jake Brown (skateboarder)
Jake Brown (born 6 September 1974) is an Australian skateboarder who specialises in transition skateboarding. He began competing in 1996 and regularly appears as a contestant in the X Games contest events. Brown has also successfully skateboarded the "MegaRamp" structure, on which he is the first person to ever perform a 720-degree rotation without grabbing his board as of September 2013. He lost control of his board while competing in the X Games in 2007, falling from a height of 14 meters (45 feet) and sustaining severe injuries. Despite this, he recovered and went on to win gold in the same tournament in 2009 and successfully defend his title in 2010. Andrew Reynolds (born June 6, 1978) is an American professional skateboarder known for co-founding Baker Skateboards in 2000 with artist Jay Strickland. He is now Baker Skateboard's sole owner. Reynolds established Bakerboys Distribution with Erik Ellington and Jim Greco in 2007. Bakerboys Distribution provides distribution for closely related in-house skateboard companies such as Deathwish Skateboards and Shake Junt. He is also the head of design at Altamont Apparel. Greg Lutzka
Gregory Lutzka (born April 20, 1985) is an American professional skateboarder. Early life Lutzka was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 20, 1985. Lutzka explained in 2014 that he "grew up on skates," and first tried ice skating at the age of two before playing ice hockey in high school. Lutzka commenced skateboarding at the age of nine after discovering it through his peers in the ice hockey team. Skateboarding was initially an activity that he enjoyed as an aside to ice hockey, but three years later, Lutzka replaced ice hockey with skateboarding because he "loved it so much." Ishod Wair
Ishod-Kedar Burti Wair (born November 1, 1991) is an American professional skateboarder. Career Wair was raised in Bordentown, New Jersey, where he began skateboarding at the age of nine. Over the next few years he began to consolidate other activities such as basketball in favor of focusing solely on his skateboarding career. In 2009, Wair, then 18, attended the Tampa Am, an amateur skateboarding contest held in Tampa, Florida, placing 18th out of 36 skaters who qualified for the semi-finals. Despite not qualifying for the finals, the Tampa Am catalyzed his career in part due to his handing out promotional DVDs to potential sponsors.
