Malika Ayane (; born 31 January 1984) is an Italian pop singer. Early life Malika Ayane was born in Milan, Italy, on 31 January 1984, to a Moroccan father, Ahmed, and an Italian mother. She grew up in the Zone 2 of Milan, the most multi-ethnic area of the city. In 1995, she entered the White Voices Choir at the Teatro alla Scala in her hometown, where she sang for seven years. In the meanwhile, she started studying cello at the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan, where she graduated in 2001. Career During the mid 2000s, Ayane recorded songs for some TV spots, including a cover of " Over the Rainbow" for the campaign of Italian food company Yomo in 2005, and the original track "Soul Waver", performed in 2007 for Swedish car manufacturer Saab. Sesto Fiorentino (), known locally as just Sesto, is a municipality (''comune'') in the Metropolitan City of Florence, Tuscany, central Italy. History The oldest known human settlement in the area dates from the Mesolithic (c. 9,000 years ago). Gino Paoli (; born 23 September 1934 in Monfalcone) is an Italian singer-songwriter. The Sanremo Music Festival 2009 was the 59th annual Sanremo Music Festival. It was held at the Teatro Ariston in Sanremo, province of Imperia, during the five nights between 17 February 2009 and 21 February 2009, and it was broadcast by Rai 1. Tha last night of the show was also broadcast live by RTV21 in Albania, RTK in Kosovo and by RSI in Switzerland. The artistic director of the contest was Paolo Bonolis, supported by Gianmarzo Mazzi. Bonolis also presented the show, together with Luca Laurenti. The competition was divided into two different sections. The "Big Artists" section included sixteen well-known singers, performing a previously unheard song, and it was won by Marco Carta's "La forza mia". The "Newcomers" section, featuring ten debuting or little known artists, was won by Arisa, performing the song " Sincerità". For the first time, a third section was added. Barilla
''Barilla'' refers to several species of salt-tolerant ( halophyte) plants that, until the 19th century, were the primary source of soda ash and hence of sodium carbonate. The word "barilla" was also used directly to refer to the soda ash obtained from plant sources. The word is an anglicization of the Spanish word ''barrilla'' for saltwort plants (a particular category of halophytes). Luigi (Gino) De Crescenzo (born 5 March 1964), best known as Pacifico, is an Italian singer-songwriter, composer and musician. Background Born in Milan, the son of a Neapolitan father and mother from Salerno, at 16 years old De Crescenzo formed his first band, "La Goccia". After graduating in political science and various experiences through rock, jazz, and fusion, in 1989 he formed together with Luca Gemma "Rossomaltese", a group in whom De Crescenzo was composer and guitarist. Caterina Caselli (born 10 April 1946) is an Italian record producer, music executive, singer and bass player. Biography Caselli was born in Modena but grew up in Sassuolo. She started her music career by playing bass in local clubs. In 1966 she debuted in the Sanremo Festival with " Nessuno mi può giudicare", a song discarded by Adriano Celentano, scoring a notable success. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc. Caselli also had considerable success with an Italian cover of the David McWilliams song "Days of Pearly Spencer" called "Il volto della vita".
