''Male Edition'' is the debut mixtape by American girl group June's Diary. It was released on June 29, 2017 through SoundCloud. The mixtape features six covers of songs originally recorded by male groups Shai, Jodeci, Bell Biv DeVoe, The Deele, Jagged Edge, and The Beatles and one original song. Background On March 16, 2017, June's Diary released a new music video for their cover of Jodeci's "Stay" via their YouTube channel. A behind the scenes video was released the following day via That Grape Juice's YouTube channel. Critical reception The mixtape was received with positive reviews from critics. June's Diary
June's Diary is an American girl group formed by singer Kelly Rowland and director/choreographer Frank Gatson Jr. on the American reality television docu-series ''Chasing Destiny'' in 2016. The group consists of members Kristal Lyndriette Smith, Ashly Williams, Brienna DeVlugt, Gabrielle "Gabby" Carreiro and Shyann Roberts. They signed a deal with L.A. Reid's record label Epic Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment, Inc. The group have supported various artists on tours, such as R. Kelly, Xscape & Jussie Smollett. "Poison" is the debut single of American vocal group Bell Biv DeVoe, released as the first single from their debut album of the same name. The song, in the style of new jack swing, a late-1980s/early-1990s hybrid of R&B, hip hop and swing, was the group's most successful. Background and information The song was written and produced by Elliot Straite, AKA Dr. Freeze. Straite had originally planned to feature the song on his own album, but plans changed when the members of Bell Biv DeVoe heard his demo version. "When the guys heard it, they went nuts. Two Occasions
"Two Occasions" is an R&B song written by Babyface, Darnell Bristol and Sid Johnson (who was the former manager for Babyface's early group, Manchild). It was produced by Babyface and L.A. Reid for the Deele's third studio album '' Eyes of a Stranger'' (1987). The ballad was released as the album's second single in December 1987. It is the only song on the album that features Babyface on lead vocals, which alternate between himself, Bristol, and Carlos "Satin" Greene throughout the course of the song. It has since been remade into a live version with added vocals from Babyface with all original vocals from the Deele intact; this version appeared on the 12-inch maxi single and also three years later on his album, '' A Closer Look''.
