Malcolm Carson
Malcolm Darryl Carson (November 1, 1959 - September 22, 2020) was an American professional football player who was a guard for one game in the National Football League (NFL). Carson was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama and attended Hayes High School. He played collegiately at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Carson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Minnesota Vikings during the 1984 offseason. In American football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is an Lineman (gridiron football), offensive line player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles. Like other offensive line positions, guards are used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. Carol W. Hayes High School was a public 9–12 high school in Birmingham, Alabama. It was closed after the 2007–08 school year. History The school was established in September 1960 in Avondale, in the eastern section of Birmingham. It is named for Dr. Carol William Hayes, the city's former "Director of Negro Schools". The school added a twelfth grade in 1961, and the first seniors graduated in May 1962. Hayes remained an all-black high school until it was desegregated in 1970. Carol W. The Chattanooga Mocs football program is the intercollegiate college football team for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga located in the U.S. state of Tennessee.
