Malcolm Armstead
Malcolm Ray Armstead (born 1 August 1989) is an American-born naturalized Kosovan professional basketball player for Golden Eagle Ylli of the Kosovo Basketball Superleague. After playing college basketball for Chipola College, University of Oregon and Wichita State University Armstead entered the 2013 NBA draft but was not selected in the draft's two rounds. Professional career After going undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft, Armstead signed his first professional contract in August 2013, with the Slovenian Basket League's Krka Novo Mesto for the 2013–14 season. On June 23, 2014 he re-signed with the club for the 2014–15 season. On 10 June 2015, he signed with Avtodor Saratov of Russia for the 2014–15 season. On November 16, 2015, he left the club in order to sign with the Greek club AEK Athens for the rest of the 2015–16 Greek Basket League season. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. They effectively "run" the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Generally, point guards are expected to be proficient in passing the ball and being able to get Assist (basketball), assists to teammates. The 2023–24 BIBL season is the 16th edition of Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL). Teams from Montenegro, Kosovo and the newly represented country Cyprus are participating in this year’s competition. Format The Balkan International Basketball League introduced a new, simplified competition format. KB Ylli, known as Golden Eagle Ylli for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Theranda, Kosovo. The club currently plays in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague. Its fan club is called Xhebrailat. History KB Ylli is one of the oldest basketball clubs in Kosovo. It was founded in 1975. The club is known for its fans who support their club in especially in home games at 13 Qërshori sports hall. Their home matches are known for the fantastic atmosphere created by "Xhebrailat".
