The Malaysian football league system, also known as the Malaysian football pyramid, is a series of League system, interconnected leagues for men's association football, football clubs in Malaysia. The system has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels, allowing even the smallest club the hypothetical possibility of ultimately rising to the very top of the system. Malaysia Premier League
The Malaysia Premier League () was the second-tier professional football league in Malaysia. It replaced the Liga Perdana 2 in the Malaysian football league system. The Malaysia Premier League was contested by 12 clubs. The season usually ran from early February to late October, with a Ramadan break depending on the Islamic calendar. Clubs played 22 matches (home and away), totalling 132 matches in the season. Most games were played on Fridays, with a few games played during weekdays. MFL Cup
The MFL Cup () is the reserve team football league for the Malaysia Super League members. It is organized by Malaysian Football League (MFL). It was founded in 2023 and is the only reserve team league under the Malaysian football league system. Terengganu II are the inaugural champions of the MFL Cup, having beaten Johor Darul Ta'zim II 1–0 in the 2023 final. Piala Belia
The Piala Belia () is a youth football competition for under-18 players in Malaysia. The competition consists of youth squads from clubs competing in the Malaysian football league system and sports schools under the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM). It exists alongside the developmental competition for under-21 players, the Piala Presiden. History Since its inception in 2008, the Piala Belia has been a major tournament for under-19 players. In 2009 to 2011, the competition was combined with the Piala Presiden. In 2015 the format of the competition was changed to a league format. In 2016, the tournament format was also changed with the clubs being divided into two groups and played a round-robin leg, with four top clubs from each group at the end of the season qualifying for the playoff round to determine the champion.
