Malayappan Chinnappa
Aesu Malayappan Chinnappa or A. M. Chinnappa is the Archbishop Emeritus of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Madras and Mylapore, Madras-Mylapore and the Founder of the Society of God's Reign (Currently a Associations of the faithful, Public Association). He was formerly Bishop of Roman Catholic Diocese of Vellore, Vellore. Biography Chinnappa was born on 23 July 1937 at Ayandur which was then a substation of Mugaiyur Parish. He studied a Teacher Training Course with the MEP Fathers in Tindivanam. He was ordained Priest of Salesians of Don Bosco on 16 December 1972. On November 17, 1993 he was appointed as the Bishop of Vellore by Pope John Paul II. He was ordained as the Bishop of Vellore on January 25, 1994 by Cardinal Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy. During his time there, he built a new cathedral. On 1 April 2005 he was appointed as the Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore, the post he held until his retirement on 12 November 2012. George Antonysamy
George Antonysamy (born 15 February 1952), is an Indian prelate of the Catholic Church who has been bishop of the Archdiocese of Madras and Mylapore, Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore since 2012. He previously served in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Antonysamy was born on 15 February 1952 in Tiruchirappalli, Trichy, Tamil Nadu, Tamilnadu. He completed his primary education in Trichy and entered St. Augustine's Minor Seminary. He completed his Bachelor of Philosophy and Master of Theology degrees at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome. He was ordained a Catholic priest on 19 November 1980. He served as an assistant parish priest at Holy Redeemer's Minor Basilica, Trichy for one year. He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 1 March 1987. The Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), formally known as the Society of Saint Francis de Sales (), is a religious congregation of men in the Catholic Church, founded in 1859 by the Italian priest John Bosco to help poor and migrant youth during the Industrial Revolution. Monsignor (; ) is a form of address or title for certain members of the clergy in the Catholic Church. Monsignor is the apocopic form of the Italian ''monsignore'', meaning "my lord".
