Malayalam Films
Malayalam cinema, also referred to as Mollywood, is a segment of Cinema of India, Indian cinema dedicated to producing films in the Malayalam, Malayalam language, primarily spoken in Kerala and the Lakshadweep islands. It encompasses both the mainstream film industry and independent Malayalam films. Known for its strong storytelling, powerful performances, and social themes, Malayalam cinema has received critical acclaim and is often regarded as one of India's most notable film industries. The first Malayalam feature film was ''Vigathakumaran,'' a Silent film, silent film directed and produced by J. C. Daniel. Muhammad Kutty Panaparambil Ismail (born 7 September 1951), known mononymously by the hypocorism Mammootty (), is an Indian actor and film producer who works predominantly in Malayalam-language films. Weekend Blockbusters is an Indian film production company based in Kollam, Kerala, India. It was established in 2014 by producer Sophia Paul. Its first production was the Malayalam film '' Bangalore Days'' (2014). In 2016, they produced two films - '' Kaadu Pookkunna Neram'' and '' Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol''. History Weekend Blockbusters debuted in film production in 2014 in Malayalam film industry by producing '' Bangalore Days'', directed by Anjali Menon. Udaya Pictures
Udaya Studios is one of the oldest film studios in the Malayalam film industry of India. It was established in 1947 by director-producer Kunchacko (1912–1976) and film distributor K. V. Koshy in Pathirappally, Alappuzha in Kerala. The studio influenced the gradual shift of Malayalam film industry from Chennai, Tamil Nadu to Kerala. The first film of the studio was '' Vellinakshatram'' (1949). The films made at the studio were produced under the banner of K & K Productions, and later under Excel Productions (also spelt X. L.
