Malando Gassama
Malando Gassama (born Malang Omar Gassam; 7 February 1946 – 25 January 1999) was a Gambian percussionist who spent most of his music career in Sweden. He recorded and performed with many notable Swedish and international artists such as ABBA, Al Jarreau, Anni-Frid Lyngstad (of ABBA), Ted Gärdestad, Bette Midler, Gábor Szabó, Janne Schaffer, David Sanborn, Viktoria Tolstoy, Jaco Pastorius, and Blacknuss Allstars, etc. He was one of the backup musicians on ''ABBA: The Movie, ABBA - the Movie'' and was featured on documentaries which aired on Swedish television and radio. His last concert appearance was with Bob Manning (soul singer), Bob Manning's Soul Enterprise at Fasching Jazz Club in Stockholm. He died 2 weeks later in Gambia. ''Voulez-Vous'' (; French for "Do you want (to)?") is the sixth studio album by the Swedish supergroup ABBA. Released on 23 April 1979, the album yielded five hits, all of them big 1979 singles in Britain – " Chiquitita", " Does Your Mother Know", "I Have a Dream" and the double A-side " Voulez-Vous"/" Angeleyes". The title track showed the group embracing disco music, which at the time was at its peak. ''ABBA: The Album'' (also known as simply ''The Album'') is the fifth studio album by the Swedish pop group ABBA. It was released in Scandinavia on 12 December 1977 through Polar Music, but due to the massive pre-orders the UK pressing plants were not able to press sufficient copies before Christmas 1977 and so it was not released in the UK until January 1978. Monica Törnell
Monica Kristina Ingeborg Törnell (born 3 June 1954) is a Swedish singer and songwriter. She was discovered by Cornelis Vreeswijk in 1971, triggering a career spanning several decades in various genres, mainly folk and rock music. With Lasse Holm, she represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 1986 in Bergen, Norway. She was inducted in to the Swedish Musical Hall of Fame in 2022. Biography Childhood Monica Törnell lived her first years in Trönö, in the Norrala municipality, before moving with her family to Söderhamn, where she began visiting Folkets Park, encountering artists such as Lill-Babs, Jerry Williams, and others. She had her debut public performance before an audience of 700 people at the 1962 Ericsson Christmas party in Söderhamn, where her father Jöns Törnell was an employee, followed by a series of performances in public parks at home. Frida Ensam
''Frida ensam'' () is the second studio album by Swedish singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad. It was first released by Polar Music in 1975 while Lyngstad was a member of the pop group ABBA and produced by her then-fiancé and fellow ABBA member, Benny Andersson. The album has since been re-released several times, most significantly in remastered form in 2005 with bonus tracks. The lead song was the original version of "Fernando (song), Fernando" sung in Swedish by Lyngstad, later popularised in its English version by ABBA.
