Maksymilian Siła-Nowicki
Maksymilian Siła-Nowicki (9 October 1826 – 30 October 1890) was a Polish zoology professor and pioneer conservation movement, conservationist in Austrian Poland. His major studies were on the beetles and lepidoptera of eastern Galicia. Later in life, he was involved in the conservation of the fauna of the Tatra Mountains. He was the father of the poet Franciszek Nowicki and a brother-in-law of Franciszek Kasparek, law professor and rector at Jagiellonian University, Kraków University. Life Nowicki was born in Yabluniv, Jabłonów in eastern Galicia (Eastern Europe), Galicia. He attended the local Galicia (Eastern Europe), gymnasium (secondary school) and entered the University of Lwów in 1848 to study law, but political problems forced him to quit those studies. Yabluniv
Yabluniv (; ; ; ) is a rural settlement in Kosiv Raion, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine. It is located on the banks of the river Luchka, from Kolomyia. Yabluniv hosts the administration of Yabluniv settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Population: History The town had an historically important Jewish population but they were murdered during the Holocaust in Ukraine. Until 26 January 2024, Yabluniv was designated urban-type settlement. On this day, a new law entered into force which abolished this status, and Yabluniv became a rural settlement.
