Makar Island (Остров Макар) is an island in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russian Federation. It is part of the Yana Bay of the Laptev Sea. Sellyakh Bay
Sellyakh Bay (russian: Селляхская губа; sah, Сиэллээх тамах) is a bay in Ust-Yansky District, Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russian Federation. Google Earth There are no settlements in the bay area, the nearest inhabited place is Tumat to the south. Formerly there was a temporary Polar station in Makar Island. Geography The bay opens to the north in the eastern shores of the Yana Bay, Laptev Sea. It is located northeast of the mouths of the Chondon and southeast of the Makar and Shelonsky Islands. Buor-Khaya Gulf
The Buor-Khaya Gulf or Buor-Khaya Bight (russian: Губа Буор-Хая) is one of the most important gulfs of the Laptev Sea. Administratively the Buor-Khaya Gulf belongs to the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) of the Russian Federation. There is an abandoned polar station in the shores of the Buor-Khaya Gulf. Geography It lies at the western end of the Yana-Indigirka Lowland, between the eastern side of the Lena delta on its western side and Cape Buor-Khaya at its NE end. Tiksi Bay and the Bykovsky Peninsula are on the western shores of the Buor-Khaya Gulf. Google Earth Heavily eroded Muostakh Island, the remainder of an ancient great plain, is located roughly in the midst of the gulf. The Omoloy River is the only large river flowing into the Buor-Khaya Gulf, its mouth is located halfway up the eastern coast. Muostakh Island
Muostakh Island (Russian: Остров Муостах), also spelled "Mostakh", is an island in the Buor-Khaya Gulf of the Laptev Sea. It is located off the eastern side of the Lena delta, enclosing the Tiksi Bay, about 35 km ESE of Tiksi. Geography Muostakh Island is long and narrow; its length is 13 km and its maximum breadth about 0.5 km on average. Off its southern tip lies a much smaller 2 km long island of similar characteristics. The area where Muostakh Island lies, is subject to severe Arctic weather with frequent gales and blizzards. The sea in the bay is frozen for about nine months every year and often clogged with ice floes. There are 4 to 5 m wide baydzharakhs on the island. The Shelonsky Islands (russian: Шелонские острова, Shelonskiye Ostrova) is an island group in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russian Federation. Bison
Bison are large bovines in the genus ''Bison'' (Greek: "wild ox" (bison)) within the tribe Bovini. Two extant and numerous extinct species are recognised. Of the two surviving species, the American bison, ''B. bison'', found only in North America, is the more numerous.
