Major General Rezaqul Haider
Rezaqul Haider is a retired Bangladesh Army officer who is the former director of the Border Guard Bangladesh. Early life Haider was born on 18 April 1951 in Dhaka, he passed both SSC and HSC from Faujdarhat Cadet College. He did his graduation in Bachelor of Arts under Pakistan Military Academy and Masters in Defence Studies from Allahabad University, India. Career He was a student of 45th PMA long course. Haider was commissioned on 29 August 1971. He became 14th Director General of Bangladesh Rifles on 1 December 2001. He has worked at UNAMET for UNTAET as Chief Military Observer. He is the recipient of The Wiesel Ethics Award '2000 for his contributions to the international civil service. Major General () is a two star general rank in the Bangladesh Army. It is the third-highest active rank of the Bangladesh Army and was created as a direct equivalent of the British military rank of major general. Details Major general is a higher rank than Brigadier General, but lower than Lieutenant General. Major general is the equivalent of rear admiral in the Bangladesh Navy and air vice marshal in the Bangladesh Air Force. Mohammad Abdur Rab was the first person to hold this rank after independence. Rezzakul Haider Chowdhury (officer)
Rezzakul Haider Chowdhury is a retired Bangladesh Army officer who is the former director of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence and National Security Intelligence. Career Chowdhury maintained regular contact with Tarique Rahman while at Directorate General of Forces Intelligence. He was the director general of Directorate General of Forces Intelligence from 2005 to 2006. He met with Paresh Baruah of the United Liberation Front of Asom to discuss smuggling arms for Indian separatist outfit. He also served as the directors general of the National Security Intelligence from 20 April 2008 to 17 March 2009. Chowdhury was sentenced to death in 2014 for the 2004 arms and ammunition haul in Chittagong. The arms were destined for ULFA rebels in India. Moeen Uddin Ahmed (born 21 January 1953) is a former Bangladeshi four star general and the 12th Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army, Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army from 15 June 2005 to 15 June 2009. The United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor (UNTAET, ), was a United Nations mission in East Timor that aimed to solve the decades-long East Timorese crisis in the area occupied by Indonesian military. The East Bengal Regiment () is one of the two infantry regiments of the Bangladesh Army, the other being the Bangladesh Infantry Regiment. East Bengal Regiment was founded by Major Abdul Gani. Rangpur Cantonment () is a cantonment located in Rangpur, Bangladesh. It is the headquarters of 66th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army.
