Majok Maker Majok (born 10 December 1992) is a South Sudanese-Australian professional basketball player for the Ballarat Miners of the NBL1 South. He played college basketball for the Ball State Cardinals for two years, leading the Mid-American Conference (MAC) in rebounding and earning third-team all-conference honors in both seasons. He debuted in the National Basketball League (NBL) in 2015. He is a three-time NBL champion, winning in 2018 with Melbourne United, 2020 with the Perth Wildcats, and 2024 with the Tasmania JackJumpers. Early life and career Majok was born in Rumbek, South Sudan, and moved to Australia when he was eight. His family settled in Perth. He initially played soccer before developing a liking for basketball in high school at Kingsway Christian College. Perth Wildcats
The Perth Wildcats are an Australian professional basketball team based in Perth, Western Australia. The Wildcats compete in the National Basketball League (Australia), National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at Perth Arena, RAC Arena, known colloquially as "The Jungle". Warwick Senators is an NBL1 West club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club fields a team in both the Men's and Women's NBL1 West. The club is a division of the Churches of Christ Sport & Recreation Association (CCSRA) and serves as the major administrative basketball organisation in the City of Stirling. In basketball, a rebound, sometimes colloquially referred to as a board, is a statistic awarded to a player who retrieves the ball after a missed field goal or free throw. The National Basketball League Cup, often shortened to the NBL Cup, was a midseason tournament for the Australian National Basketball League (NBL) played during the 2020–21 season. The tournament was discontinued after one season. History On 21 December 2020, the Australian National Basketball League established the first NBL Cup to be held in Melbourne, Victoria, with all nine NBL teams taking part in the tournament from 20 February to 14 March. The majority of the 36 games were scheduled to be played at John Cain Arena (formerly Melbourne Arena), with a small amount scheduled for the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna South, Melbourne. 2023–24 NBL Season
The 2023–24 NBL season was the 46th season of the National Basketball League since its establishment in 1979. A total of ten teams contested in the 2023–24 season. Australian broadcast rights to the season are held by ESPN in the third season of a three-year deal. All games are available live on ESPN and the streaming platform Kayo Sports.
