	Michel Majerus Michel Majerus (June 9, 1967 – November 6, 2002) was a Luxembourgish artist who combined painting with digital media in his work. He lived and worked in Berlin until his untimely death in a plane crash in November 2002. Early life and education Majerus was born in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, in 1967. 	Michael Majerus Michael Eugene Nicolas Majerus (13 February 1954 – 27 January 2009) was a British geneticist and professor of evolution at the University of Cambridge. He was also a teaching fellow at Clare College, Cambridge. He was an enthusiast in Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection and became a world authority in his field of insect evolutionary biology. He was widely noted for his work on moths and ladybirds and as an advocate of the science of evolution. He was also an enthusiastic educator and the author of several books on insects, evolution and sexual reproduction. Biography After secondary education in Luxembourg, Majerus took a degree in English at the University of Essex and a degree in Economics at the University of East Anglia. Her first exhibition of landscape photographs was held in 1979 at the Minories Art Gallery in Colchester. Her second, "East Coast", was sponsored by Eastern Arts and toured in 1982. 	Jean Majerus Jean Majerus (6February 191416June 1983) was a professional Luxembourgish cyclist from 1936 to 1947. Jean had a younger brother, Jacques Majerus, who was also a successful cyclist. Majerus was educated in Rumelange and then Esch-sur-Alzette, where he trained as a locksmith. He received his first bicycle at the age of seven. He took his first race win in 1933 at a race in Itzig. He was the Luxembourg national junior road race champion in 1934 and 1935, finishing ahead of his brother in the latter year. Majerus turned professional in 1936: that year he also made his Tour de France debut, however he was eliminated at the end of the 13th stage. Similarly, he failed to finish the world championship road race that season. 	Raymond Majerus Raymond E. Majerus (1924 – December 17, 1987) was an American labor leader who served as secretary-treasurer of the United Auto Workers from 1980 untihis deathin 1987. From 1954 to 1960, Majerus was a key figure in the Kohler strike. Biography Majerus began working for Kohler Co. in the early 1950s. In 1952, Majerus led a wildcat strike for which he was fired. He remained involved in labor organization efforts at Kohler, however, and played a role in the decision to affiliate the company-supported Kohler Workers Association with the United Automobile Workers. When the U.A.W. won its first contract with Kohler in 1953, one of the provisions insisted that Majerus be barred from working at the plant. Despite the ban, Majerus served as a union representative and was a key figure in the Kohler strike that lasted from 1954 to 1960.
