Mairi Campbell (born 1965) is a Scottish Folk music, folk singer and musician. Campbell's songs and music range from the everyday to the universal, both in sound and subject matter. Campbell's awards include Scots Singer of the Year, Female Musician of the Year, Neil Gow Composition of the Year, and Tutor of the Year. Campbell and co-creator Kath Burlinson have created three solo multi-disciplinary theatre shows, ''Living Stone'' (premieres in August 2024), ''Auld Lang Syne'' (2018) and ''Pulse'' (2015), as part of a trilogy. Campbell's theatre work is a response to personal stories and cultural concerns. Campbell is one half of the duo ''The Cast'', whose version of the Robert Burns poem "Auld Lang Syne" featured in the movie ''Sex and the City (film), Sex and the City''. The J Award of 2010 is the sixth annual J Awards, established by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's youth-focused radio station Triple J. The announcement comes at the culmination of Ausmusic Month (November). For the third year, three awards were presented; ''Australian Album of the Year'', ''Australian Music Video of the Year'' and ''Unearthed Artist of the Year''. The announcement occurred on 30 November 2010. Who's eligible? Mairi Chisholm
Mairi Lambert Gooden Chisholm, of Chisholm, MM, OStJ (26 February 1896 – 22 August 1981) was a Scottish nurse and ambulance driver in the First World War. She, together with her friend Elsie Knocker, won numerous medals for bravery and for saving the lives of thousands of soldiers on the Western Front in Belgium. Dubbed "The Madonnas of Pervyse" by the press the two were among the most photographed women of the war. Early life Chisholm was born on 26 February 1896 in Buckinghamshire to Captain Roderick Gooden-Chisholm, Chief of Clan Chisholm, and Margaret Fraser. Her family was independently wealthy and owned a plantation in Trinidad. As a teen, she witnessed her older brother, Uailean, who owned a Royal Enfield 425cc motorcycle, competing at rallies and at the Bournemouth speed trials. Mairi Gougeon
Mairi Angela Gougeon (''née'' Evans; born 23 April 1985) is a Scottish politician who has served as Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs, Land Reform and Islands since 2021. A member of the Scottish National Party (SNP), she has been the Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for Angus North and Mearns since 2016. A graduate of the University of Aberdeen, Gougeon was elected to the Angus Council in the 2007 Scottish local elections. She represented the Brechin and Edzell ward and was the council's spokesperson on economic development. She stood down in the 2017 election, following her election to the Scottish Parliament the previous year. In 2018, she was appointed Minister for Rural Affairs and the Natural Environment, before being appointed Minister for Public Health and Sport in 2020. Mairi Hedderwick (born 2 May 1939) is a Scottish illustrator and author, known for the ''Katie Morag'' series of children's picture books set on the Isle of Struay, a fictional counterpart of the inner Hebrides, inner Hebridean island of Coll where Hedderwick has lived at various times for much of her life. She has also written several books of travel literature, travel writing for adults, and is the illustrator of a range of Hebridean stationery.
