Mainland Football
Mainland Football is one of six federations of New Zealand Football, representing regions of Northern and Central Canterbury, Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough and the West Coast. History Canterbury United Pride was founded in 2002, to represent the region for the New Zealand Women's National League from its inaugural season in 2002 onwards. Canterbury United Dragons was founded in 2002 as a conglomerate of various Christchurch area clubs, in order to form a strong team to take part in the 2002 New Zealand National Soccer League. In 2004, the league was replaced by the New Zealand Football Championship, run on a regional franchise basis, and Canterbury United became one of the eight competing teams. In 2021, the league was replaced by New Zealand National League for more of a club based competition, causing the Canterbury Dragons to dissolve. Canterbury Championship League
Canterbury (, ) is a cathedral city and UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated in the heart of the City of Canterbury local government district of Kent, England. It lies on the River Stour. Selwyn United FC
Selwyn United Football Club is an amateur football club based in Rolleston in the Selwyn region of New Zealand. Formed in 2013 following the merger of Ellesmere FC and Rolleston FC, they currently compete in the Southern League, one of three qualifying leagues for the New Zealand National League. The club also competes in the Chatham Cup, New Zealand's premier knockout tournaments for men. University Of Canterbury
The University of Canterbury ( mi, Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha; postnominal abbreviation ''Cantuar.'' or ''Cant.'' for ''Cantuariensis'', the Latin name for Canterbury) is a public research university based in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was founded in 1873 as Canterbury College, the first constituent college of the University of New Zealand. Cashmere Technical
Cashmere Technical is an association football club based in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was formed in early 2012 from the merger of two of the city's premier teams, Cashmere Wanderers and Woolston Technical. The two clubs had agreed to work together in early 2011, and the 2011 Christchurch earthquake which devastated their home city and resulted in the loss of many playing facilities hastened their merger into a combined side. Cashmere Technical play in the Mainland Premier League, and have won the Chatham Cup twice as Cashmere but also once as Christchurch Technical Old Boys. Christchurch United is an amateur association football club in Christchurch, New Zealand. They compete in various Mainland Football competitions at Junior and Senior level. The club has won six National League titles and six Chatham Cup trophies. Christchurch United are the current Southern League champions. First played during the 1974 season, it has been running on for 20 years longer than the Kate Sheppard Cup. It is organised by and named after Mainland Football. It has been known as the Morrison Mitsubishi Reta Fitzpatrick after itheadline sponsor A concurrent Men's Cup has been held since 1913 called English Cup. The tournament consists of 1 randomly drawn rounds followed by the semi-finals and the final. All quarter-final, semi-finals and final games are hosted at English Park during the week, generally on a Tuesday at 7:00pm.
