A highway is any public or private road or other public way on land. It includes not just major roads, but also other public roads and rights of way. In the United States, it is also used as an equivalent term to controlled-access highway, or a translation for ''motorway'', ''Autobahn'', ''autostrada'', ''autoroutes of France, autoroute'', etc. According to Merriam-Webster, the use of the term predates the 12th century. The Main Road is a regional highway located in the district of Cox's Bazar, Chittagong Division, Bangladesh. Background The length of the main road is . It extends from the central bus terminal to Hashemiya Madrasa. This road was previously under the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority. Later it was handed over to the Cox's Bazar Development Authority (CDA) which is now responsible for its maintenance.
