Mai Châu
Mai Châu [maːj˧˥:ʨəw˧˥] is a Xã, commune of Phú Thọ province in the Northwest (Vietnam), Northern Midlands and Mountains region of Vietnam. History Its name Mai Châu belongs to one of the phonetic ways in Kinh language, what is Chiangsai (ຊຽງ ໄຊ, Chiềng Sại) in Tai language. On April 17, 2025, to realize the ''Plan to arrange and merge administrative units in Vietnam 2024–2025'' by the Government of Vietnam, the Hòa Bình province, Hòa Bình Provincial People's Committee conducted an extraordinary conference. The result of the conference was a Resolution on the dissolution of all Huyện, rural-district level administrative units in the whole province, followed by another Resolution on the merging of Xã, communes and the establishment of new communes with their new names. Regions Of Vietnam
The Vietnamese government often groups the various provinces and municipalities into three regions: Northern Vietnam, Central Vietnam, and Southern Vietnam. Administrative divisions (also administrative units, administrative regions, subnational entities, or constituent states, as well as many similar generic terms) are geographical areas into which a particular independent sovereign state is divided. Trần Quốc Vượng (historian)
Trần Quốc Vượng (; 12 December 1934 – 8 August 2005) was a Vietnamese historian, archaeologist, and culturologist. He was part of the generation including Hà Văn Tấn, and Phan Huy Lê that had formed the foundation of Vietnamese History Studies since the 1950s. Since 1956, he was Professor of University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi and gave lectures on Vietnamese Ancient-Middle History, Archaeology, and Culturology until 2005.
