Mahi Gill
Rimpy Kaur "Mahie" Gill (born 19 December 1975) is an Indian actress, working in the Hindi and Punjabi film industries. She is best known for her role of ''Paro'' in Anurag Kashyap's critically acclaimed Hindi film '' Dev.D'', a modern take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's Bengali novella '' Devdas'', for which she also won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress in 2010. She started her career in Punjabi films before making a debut in Bollywood with '' Dev.D''. Dacoity is a term used for "banditry" in the Indian subcontinent. The spelling is the anglicised version of the Hindi word डाकू (ḍākū); "dacoit" is a colloquial Indian English word with the meaning "a robber belonging to an armed gang". ''Not A Love Story'' is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language crime thriller film inspired by the murder of Neeraj Grover in 2008 that led to the arrest of Emile Jerome Mathew and Maria Susairaj. Starring Mahie Gill, Deepak Dobriyal and Ajay Gehi and directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the film was released on 19 August 2011.
